April's Message from Fr. Charlie

“He is Risen," “He is Risen," Now What??

I hope the lenten speakers, spoke to some questions we all have about life, especially the Christian Life, and assisted you through your Lenten season.

To continue in that vein we are going to start and adult class to start shortly after Easter Sunday. It will meet from 9 to 9:45 in the Parish Hall. My hope is that the subjects will be of interest and relevant to our Christian Pilgrimage together. I want to thank all who participated in the Lenten programs and I will continue to have people with a message speak to us from time to time.

If you have a topic of interest, let me know and we can address it.

Easter is not the end of the story. For if you are keeping up with your readings, the disciples were still afraid even after Jesus rises from the dead. On the evening of the resurrection, they are all in a room with the doors shut for fear of the Jews, Jesus walks into the room and the first thing he said is “Peace be with you” and the “Receive the Holy Spirit” the the clincher.. “If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone’s sins, they are retained.”

If you have any creative thinking, you can imagine some of the forgiveness that had to happen among the disciples. One of the gifts of Jesus gave us, is Peace of mind and what keeps that peace in our hearts is our use of the tools he left us—

Forgiveness, Love, Kindness, Self-control, Peace, Patience, and Goodness.

These are some of our aspiration as members of the Church that Jesus founded.
